Comparison:

Last year before the Elite 8 vs NCSt Paige Bueckers said “I know I won’t be the same Paige, but I wanted to come back for my team.”

This year will we hear those words from Azzi Fudd whose condition appears to be a lot less severe than Paige’s was at this time last year? There will be those that will say you can’t compare like that. Everyone’s different. Very true. However, it is something that would bring immediate vitality to this team of weary soldiers.

Any bets, Huskies WBB fans?

This all goes back to the injuries. Three fifths of the starting team are injured....so what we have is a jury rigged team. I love Nika, but nobody can afford a point guard that doesn't score off the dribble and wh isn't a drop dead three point shooter. Aubrey is a marvelous sixth man, not a starter. Aaliyah and Dorka are exhausted. So is Lou. Her legs are gone on her shot....that she's shooting as well as she is a miracle. Patterson and Amari are at least a year away, offensively. If you're looking fir offense from the last player on the team, You should have your head examined. Gotta love Inez, but....she's the last payer on the team. LOVE this team for what they have done! But it's not a complete team. You have at least fifty points sitting on the bench, injured. LOVE THESE GUYS.....BUT get real.......go Huskies....

Great work D.C. A few points that hit home:

1. Caroline was 1-11 in Tuesday's debacle - why not put in Amari, Ayanna or Ines -- really.

2. You (yourself - as we said in the 80's) wrote that UConn is going with a half-court/slow-hand (Clapton!!) offense in one of your last Weeklies. Might that not have contributed more than anything else? I've been watching UConn since you were a gleam in your parent's eyes. They were always a fast-break-first team.
