From a Performance standpoint it's all relative. The Record at Gampel maybe better but again, one has to compare the competition played in each year. If you're playing the Big games in Hartford then the chances of a loss is far greater than at Gampel. I could do a dissertation on the two arenas but suffice it to say, my preference is Gampel. It's not just because it's on campus because there always seems to be far more Non-students than students at the games (and until the pandemic hit I attended most of them), but also the crowds seem to get more into the game than at the XL Center....and p.s.: there's not that much to do in downtown Hartford....not like the days of old when you shop on Main, Ann, Church, Asylum, Pratt Streets, et al...and even the Civic Center had a Shopping Mall. jmo
