Months ago I created a thread in the Boneyard asking for everyone's over/under for Ayanna having 5 dunks her Freshman season. This was based on my anticipation that Paige would work with Yanna on Alley-Oops taking advantage of Paige's great passing ability and love for seeing teammates scoring on top of Yanna's remarkable leaping ability.
To put it mildly, the reaction was as if I had suggested that UCONN should start one of the.male practice players.
Now the idea of Ayanna dunking has reached the point of it being the focus of your article and of it seeming to have Geno's blessing.
What will be missing, of course, will be Paige's sensational passing ability which I can't see any other player on this season's squad duplicating. So I guess Under is more likely, unfortunately.
I'm not a fan of dunking but ESPN seems to think it's 6 of the top 10 plays in the NBA every night so who am I to question them? What I worry about is that college defenders tend to undercut players who elevate to the rim. They aren't being nasty, they just don't know better.
Great article - and interesting character reveal on Ayanna. I've been wondering why (just in general) there isn't more dunking in the women's game & esp. the WNBA. Would up the eyeballs and tune-ins for sure. Great points by Philipp.

Great points - Philipp - and sorry, but I agree with you 100%.
Ah, what might have been, if only...
Go for it it will be easier after the first one
