Aubrey Griffin had never played in a normal NCAA Tournament prior to this season. As a freshman, it was canceled due to the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic. The next year, the entire tournament was played in a bubble in San Antonio. Last season, she could only watch while recovering from back surgery.
